Reba's Autumn Portrait

This is my beautiful, dainty little troublemaker of a dog, Reba, who just happens to be insanely cute Here she poses wonderfully for a nine-month old puppy!!

My dog, Reba, was rescued from an abusive home in West Virginia. She lived all of her young puppy life in a crate, with no toys and no other dogs to play with. We also suspect that her owner had beaten her, as she is scared when people raise their voices and kick things (such as soccer balls) . When the rescue team went in to get her, they found her knee-deep in her own waste. She hadn't been feed in a couple off weeks, and was beginning to eat her own feces. She was then taken back to a shelter, and after that transferred to Lost Dog and Cat Rescue, which connected her with us. She was only five months old at this time. When she got to the shelter, she was emaciated, had mange, worms, and infections in her eyes and ears. When we got her, she was still 15 pounds or more underweight. She is so skinny that her skin is too big for her. But yet she still loves all human beings and especially children. She has a love for life that i have never seen in anything, dog or human, before. I wish that Reba's previous owner had given her a better life.
But then she wouldn't be with me.
So i thank God, that Reba has found her way to our hearts, and a safe place she can call home.
